Child Abuse in India
A study on the reports of 2007:India, conducted by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (GOI) has said that almost every child that lives in Indian society is abused in some way.

It is terrible to think of there are many ways that they are getting abused as such,
Physical abuse or injury, Sexual abusing, Emotional abusing, Girl child neglect, Exploitation, and child labor. Child abuse can happen in the home, schools, foster care institutions, playgrounds, workplace, or even online also like social network bullying.
Such violence can create an impact on the children's mental drive or behaviour, child’s survival, dignity, development, and socialisation. Regardless of every affirmative action taken concerning children through numerous acts and amendments, their condition has not changed much over time. The fact that children are the most vulnerable section of society has not varied even after decades of independence. The issue that society should be aware of is the impact that has these children have been facing.
Child abuse in all its forms and manifestations is a global issue that has been highly misunderstood and underestimated over the years. It is extremely prevalent in India as well, where it is rooted in social, economic, and cultural practices to a great extent.
Classification of child-abusing :
It is necessary to address the different types of child abuse to not only understand their occurrence but to also derive a clear idea to distinguish its different types, enabling to derive and ponder upon possible solutions to the challenge at hand.
Physical Abuse :
It is proven by a study report that every two out of three children are physically abused.

Physical child abuse basically consists of potential and intended harm to the child, which can be because of cuts and bruises or a serious injury intended by the parents or the person in a position of power or authority. These kind of abuses are consists of hitting, beating, leaving the child in an undignified posture or bullying. The state of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, and Delhi have almost consistently reported higher rates of abuse in all forms as compared to other states. Effects of these abuses can create a very immersive impact on his/her mind like shyness, frightened, psychological disorder, etc.
Sexual abuse :
Child sexual abuse is the involvement of the child in sexuality the child does not fully understand and intend of. During the act, the child is primarily uninformed of the situation and unprepared at the time. Many children reported that they had to face the situation for more or severe times. Most of the abuses are persons known to the child or in a position of trust and responsibility. Effects of child sexual abuse on the victim include guilt and self-blame, flashbacks, nightmares, insomnia, self-esteemed difficulties, sexual dysfunction, chronic pain, addiction, self-injury, suicidal ideation, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety,
Fear of things associated with the abuse (including objects, smells, places, doctors' visits etc.)
Delhi, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, and Assam reported the highest incidence of sexual abuse among both boys and girls.
Sexual abuse can be divided into two major types
Contact type :
- Kissing or holding in a sexual manner
- Forcing to touch genital areas
- Vaginal or Anal Intercourse
- Sexual Exploitation
- Incest
- Rape
Non-contact type :
- Obscene Remarks
- Virtual Sex
- Online Solicitation
- Exposed to Pornography
- Sexually intrusive comments
